Compared to the megatons of “reviews” found on here where the “reviewer” spends 19 minutes unpacking a product and 1 minute discussion about its features, I consider this an brilliant review. Incredible HD footage for such a tiny camera. In video mode, does it take a max of 30 seconds per shoot or will it keep recording video until the the reminiscence card is full? Thanks Doug for sharing with us this candid small segment of life in your home, with your family and pets:)

Hi! Were you able to edit the raw video files in iMovie or did you have to transcode them first?

I can’t compare the I780 as I have no experience with that camera. As far as concerts, I reckon it would do fine for compact point and shoot.

Remember, this is a sub 300 dough point and shoot that happens to take very excellent video for what it is.

do you reckon this would be excellent to record like live concerts or no would the sound mess up?

People have been bitching that this camera’s HD mode is worse in comparison to the SD 780 IS. What’s your opinion? I’m stuck between choosing one or the other.

The battery life is fantastic, I just finished using it on a 4 day rucksack trip and shot several 100 photos and over an hour of HD video, on a single battery and still had power to spare.

Yes I am very impressed with this small camera. I returned a JVC Everio HD camcorder in favor of the quality of this point n shoot. This small canon shoots fantastic video and is simple to pocket.
