first install the drivers of the CD that comes with the camera, after that your computer will regenerate and when you plug it and turn it on it will detect it automatically

The free CHDK software kit that is added into the reminiscence card makes it possible to add extra features to this nice camera (and to many other Canon PowerShot & IXUS cameras).

    So google for CHDK.

Hey CANON, What happened to the A590?!
I bought one for Christmas and I’ve been recommending it to everyone since, but Canon pulled it from our shelves. We wanted to get another one and cannot find one in Canada. I guess ppl stopped buying the more expensive models when the A590 came out. This is so much camera for so small money, no wonder.
Please bring it back to our stores!

i’ve just bought this camera and it’s incredible! the macro fuction is fantastic for a non-SLR camera, and the image quality is awe-inspiring
