finally, someone who doesn’t pretend to be a smart ass. there is a reason why DCs are generally going to higher pixels. Before making a general comment like that, at least try and do some research, THEN comment on the cons of higher pixel density…ppl will respect you more …

6 to about 15mpx is excellent. anything above, well as you’ve said…

    @emforty2 Not exactly right.

it is also NOT a fact that higher megapixels are terrible for picture quality!

The fact is it depends on a lot of factors including the camera’s digital sensor area and the aspect ratio of it, the aspect ratio of your prints, the size of your prints and tons of other factors.

Google “digital camera sensor size” & you’ll find tons of info to educate yourself on the subject.

also higher megapixels kills the quality of photos because of induced noise

i’d prefer this camera to have 6~8 megapixels nothing more

contrary to well loved belief higher megapixels is acutally terrible for picture quality

but the megapixel war goes on

It kills me that it doesn’t have RAW capability…

Talk to your ‘friend’. It should come with a lens cap, alkaline batteries, a usb cable, an av cable & software. You can also go to the canon website and download the manual. There is a getting started guide that should also be in the box but it doesnt go into any real detail and the full manual (all 179 pages!) is on the software disk in the form of a pdf file.

Its a bridge camera. Its a bit more advance than a regular p&s but not as advanced as even an entry level dslr.

  8. dlinkdj on January 30, 2010 at 6:01 pm

i bought it from a friend
    its still groundbreaking new
but it comes with nothing, no wires, no box :P

Where did you get it from for 200. I’ve been looking at getting one of these and ordered from crazy camera’s (huge mistake!) and that was for £283 including a reminiscence card.

  10. dlinkdj on January 30, 2010 at 7:09 pm

I bought it groundbreaking new for 200, never used it
it’s still groundbreaking new and im gonna sell it for 400

  11. 800764 on January 30, 2010 at 7:29 pm

Why do you want to sell? Just curious.

  12. Saint7781 on January 30, 2010 at 7:55 pm

That doesn’t depend on the camera. There’s various software programs that can join clips into one huge video, as well as edit them.

  13. rmsolympic1 on January 30, 2010 at 8:20 pm

Is it a terrible deal? If so, please lemme’ know before (and that’s really an if) I buy it.

  14. dlinkdj on January 30, 2010 at 8:59 pm

i have it lol and i wanna sell it

  15. rmsolympic1 on January 30, 2010 at 9:42 pm

man, if i had this, i would probably nopt see be seen for a month, just playing and playing wioth it.

  16. Dutchji on January 30, 2010 at 10:24 pm

    no
    it’s a compact camera

  17. TheMiah11 on January 30, 2010 at 10:59 pm

Does anyone know if this has a software hack to allow for raw capabilities?

  18. vidalabeauty on January 30, 2010 at 11:29 pm

I know. I’m still considering though!

  19. lissahxox on January 31, 2010 at 12:09 am

@vidalabeauty ohhh. okay, that makes me sad. :(

    thanks tho

  20. vidalabeauty on January 31, 2010 at 12:56 am

    No, it’s point-&-shoot.

  21. lissahxox on January 31, 2010 at 1:32 am

is this a dslr, or no?

  22. 800764 on January 31, 2010 at 2:20 am

When you’ve reached the limit of your video size and it moves on to another file is it then possible to join these files together to make one huge video?

  23. mustafamossi on January 31, 2010 at 2:26 am

I am waiting for my bursary grant, as soon as i get it i will not hesitate to get this terrible girl !!!

  24. ajj4account on January 31, 2010 at 2:49 am

That’s excellent, but I take it your batteries are more powerful then regular NiMH AAs?

  25. Blakeitar06 on January 31, 2010 at 3:40 am
