Canon TX1 is a excellent camera BUT the battery life sucks.

  5. juanchobostero on February 2, 2010 at 5:26 pm

I know , but i dont know if it`s possible to do that…

  6. MooseOfReason on February 2, 2010 at 6:21 pm

That would be excellent for longer battery life. But you wouldn’t be able to see what you were recording, because the TX1 doesn’t have an optical viewfinder.

RED-EYE: If you half push the shutter button to focus for more than a half second, the red-eye lamp extinguishes and the pupils will not remain dialated by the time your shutter goes off. You must half push, make, focus, release, tell the subject to lok right at the red lamp, and just take the shot.

The TX1 is the most powerful camera that can fit in my pocket. I learned the manual, learned the camera, and have taken more pictures and HD movies than I could have without it. Swivel rules!

“Set the [Red-Eye] function to [On] and shoot (p.35). For this mode to be effective, the subject must be looking right at the red-eye reduction lamp. Try asking them to look directly at the lamp.” p. 120 of Advanced Camera User Guide.

The red eye lamp vanishes promptly so you must make your shot first, question the subject to look at the red lamp when it fires and push and shoot.

red eye isnt a huge deal?

Look – the people doing all these reviews dont even read the 160 page manual that comes with it. If you learn how tho use this camcorder camers you’ll realize that for the money and size its incredible! I have had mine for 6 months. The stereo sound is excellent- and internal editing excellent and the batteries on Ebay cost only $7.. . Buy a small mono pod .What other camcorders have HD with 7.1 MP photos?

hey chri, i watch a lot of ur videos and they have all seemed to help me a lot, so thank u for that and also i was wondering if i could get ur opinion on the canon powershot sd1100 is, i have been doin a lot of research and asking at stored like best buy andcircuit city, and it seems like that is really the front runner as far as compact point and shoot cameras that arent in some rediculous prise range. so yea i want to know how u feel on the subject, plzzz and thankyou

I will be buying TX1. Which is the best place to buy it for less. The lowest I saw was zipzoomfly but are they reliable? Thanks in advance

    damn.

You need to bring up to date your S2 IS, to and S5 IS.

He isnt incorrect. a 4 gig gives 14 minutes… but guess what. An 8 gig gives 30 minutes. And a 16 gig, like the one I have, gives an hour of the highest quality.

I am a tx1 owner and I HATE the red eye as well! lol but I am in fact looking to sell mine (financially hard time in my life) do you have a proposition for how much it should cost used but in perfect condition?

  17. lesliebohde on February 2, 2010 at 11:50 pm

I bought a tx-1. Yes the redeye is horrible and when i fix it on the camera itself the eyes look dont look too much better so i fix it on picasa, photoshop. There is a tx-2 coming out?

    “you talk to much too”
Yeah he does, but at least he’s doing the video.
I have one of these gems; you can’t place it in a case and THEN into your pocket.
I agree with not putting a camera into a pocket.

  19. kokansenhikari on February 3, 2010 at 12:27 am

    He got some comments incorrect.
With 4GB SDHC card, you can take 14 minutes of HD video(720p).
