Recorded with a Canon powershot SD780 Is. Raw unedited video, the camera records in HD by itself. My opinion : Very nice camera. Takes really nice pictures at 12.1 Megapixels, Videos are really excellent quality (Like this one) This camera is very small, maybe even a small bit too small.. If you have huge fingers, you’ll have distress using the buttons on the camera. Very light and portable

I’m plotting on getting the rigorous same camera as this, and from what I have read and what I saw in this video, this is a sweet excellent small camera! The video is impressive on this thing too. I plot on plane spotting at my local airport using this camera and taking pictures and videos and stuff. I’m impressed!

It IS a smooth 30 fps, its just the autofocus lagging because of the shakiness of the filming.

  4. dudeworld1 on May 27, 2010 at 3:51 pm

why does your video appear to have a lower frame rate, like around 15? Mine come out nice and smooth, at 30FPS

    @BananaMan774
Try VLC mediaplayer for playing the video.
    Or download some new codecs.

  13. danielbuda on May 27, 2010 at 7:33 pm

What SD card do you have? I need to buy one, i know it needs at least a speed 4, but im thinking of getting a 6. What size/brand/ and speed do you have?? thanks!

  14. danielbuda on May 27, 2010 at 7:44 pm

It is on the default settings, im using a SD 512mb card. Kinda ancient but rarely used. I uploaded it using the software it came with and same quality video, damn this suckx..

  15. FSXMovies on May 27, 2010 at 8:25 pm

But if you place it in Windows Movie Maker then of course it’ll come out grainy. If anything you should download Sony Vegas and crack it and i’ll tell you the HD render settings

  16. FSXMovies on May 27, 2010 at 9:24 pm

    Default settings

  17. danielbuda on May 27, 2010 at 10:09 pm

Hey my video comes up all grainy, what settings are you use? i reckon i have it right, but it looks crappy! What reminiscence chip do you have exactly? what speed, etc etc.
    THANKS!

@DallasCowboysFan777 The camera itself records in HD.

  19. DallasCowboysFan777 on May 27, 2010 at 11:22 pm

@FSXMovies is it only HD if I click HD on youtube or is the camera itself already recording in HD?

  20. MetalxUpxUrxass85 on May 27, 2010 at 11:28 pm

for some reason, whenever i take a video off of my SD780 the video quality is a bit fuzzy. am i doing anything incorrect?..

    thanks. 5*

  21. FSXMovies on May 27, 2010 at 11:52 pm

@hitman10171 I took the movies off of the SD card, dragged it onto my desktop and uploaded it.

  22. hitman10171 on May 28, 2010 at 12:51 am

oh ok. i am just having distress getting my HD test video on here because youtube makes it an error. how did you get it on youtube?

  23. FSXMovies on May 28, 2010 at 1:04 am

@hitman10171 I’m worried you can’t. The camera records specifically in .mov to keep the nice HD quality. The video would go all pixely otherwise.

It’s a huge file but once you place it in let’s say Sony Vegas, Camtasia Studio, After Effects etc.. the file will be somewhat compressed but with very nearly no quality lost

  24. hitman10171 on May 28, 2010 at 1:34 am

hey FSXmovies, I have a quick question, i have bought the SD780 is. and I am wondering how did you convert the .MOV extension to a different format without losing the HD quality.

  25. FSXMovies on May 28, 2010 at 2:23 am

@MetalxUpxUrxass85 You can record about an hour and a half. I managed to fit 3 hrs on a PNY 8GB SD card.

And for the battery life, it can last about 12 hrs constantly taking photos and several days when you’re not using it much
