This charger is well worth the money for someone not looking to waste a bunch of money on a charger. I misplaced my Canon SD850 charger and was turned off by their price tag to replace it until it pops back up. It seems Canon feels people are willing to pay a premium for a charger if the Canon name is attached. It seems they are largely right.
Pros:
1. Its price at $13.95 compared to Canon’s $37.67 ($50 full retail) price.
The price is the main reason I give it five, instead of four stars.
2. It works just as well as Canon’s charger. The battery fits snugly in place and a red charging light turns green when the charge is completed.
3. It comes with a detachable car lighter plug for charging on the go. This eliminates having to look for an available wall outlet while outside. The Canon charger comes with no such attachment. This extra doohickey is another reason for five stars.
Cons:
1. It isn’t sexy looking like the Canon charger. It looks like something an electrician would have hanging on their tool belt instead of something in a vacationers rucksack or camera bag. Its small, but bulky compared to the Canon’s much more compact, sleek design.
If you can stand the bare bones nerdy look of this charger, its a quality money reduction alternative to the Canon charger.

I lost the original battery charger, due to it being so small. I wanted something less expensive than the Canon one, and maybe with a car charger in case I was traveling. This item was the best choice. The only warning I have is that the battery has to be snapped in tight or else it doesn’t charge, so be careful to make sure it is secure before charging. Works well.

After having lost the original charger all through an out of town trip, I was very pleased to find this item on Amazon at a very reasonable price. It works perfectly and has allowed me to resume use of my camera.

After I lost my battery charger for my camera I visited electronic stores in our area. When I looked at the price of the replacement I thought I was hallucinating. I should have never atrophied my time and just come to Amazon.com. I always find what I want from reputable companies and have never had a problem.
