Nope, unfortunately it doesn’t. That’s really one of the only things I don’t like about the camera. You have to convert to .avi or something else before using movie maker.

You can do it with Quicktime Pro. There are a lot of videos on youtube telling you how to get it for free if you want.

can you take pictures while recording a video ?

  6. tdvu on July 8, 2010 at 6:37 pm

windows movie maker doesn’t handle .mov files?

  7. fivecentlemonade on July 8, 2010 at 6:54 pm

    Yeah, I’m pleased with it.

It does a sweet nice job? Resolution?

  9. fivecentlemonade on July 8, 2010 at 8:10 pm

You can upload it right to youtube. You only need to change the format if you want to edit it in windows movie maker.

  10. GregzGod88 on July 8, 2010 at 8:36 pm

Can you place the movie directly on to youtube after loading it on the computer? or do you have to change the format?

  11. fivecentlemonade on July 8, 2010 at 9:07 pm

Yeah, I have the same problem with mine. Quicktime pro lets you convert the videos to avi or something else that you can use with movie maker. There are a bunch of videos that clarify how you can get it for free

  19. rml695 on July 9, 2010 at 12:10 am

Awe-inspiring vid. :D JW who is it that’s playing the piano?

  20. fivecentlemonade on July 9, 2010 at 12:47 am

Oh, I’m not sure. My advice would be to listen to what Canon has to say, since they’re the experts. ;)

I meant size as in GB’s. I just read online at Cannon that its 2GB SD, and up to 32GB SDHC.

  22. fivecentlemonade on July 9, 2010 at 2:05 am

If by “how huge” you mean, how much interval can be on the reminiscence card, I don’t reckon it matters. Mine is only 512 MB, but I know for sure you can use ones with bounty of interval. If you mean in fact sizewise, it just takes your standard SD.

  23. wallmartkiller on July 9, 2010 at 2:06 am

Also, how huge of a SD card will this camera take and what type exactly is best?

  24. fivecentlemonade on July 9, 2010 at 2:44 am

Yeah, you can zoom optically in video mode. I do in this video. Max zoom photos aren’t as high quality as photos taken at a normal zoom, but I never in fact expected them to be. But, I still find them to be sweet excellent as long as you keep a steady hand–otherwise they may be a small blurry even with the image stabilization.

can you in fact zoom optically in video mode? are there in distortion in max zoom photos?
