@NextWaveG Tony, for people like me, you rambling on about the different equipment you use is a blessing. You’re my idol. Lol.

This is precisely while I got the Sony HVR-HD1000U, so that I can rest the camera on the shoulder and use a huge ring on the lens, instead of the small handheld camcorder ring, to adjust exposure, focust, etc. The HV30 might offer better image quality than the HD1000U, but the you don’t need to attach anything to the HD1000U to have similar rig. In addition you have two hot shoes on the HD1000U to attache wireless receiver, camera light, etc.

  11. dartboardpicture2 on August 3, 2010 at 10:01 pm

  12. floydbumby on August 3, 2010 at 10:57 pm

wretched if you have answered this in the past I’m a lil bone idle. What lenses are you using . I am really green so ….

  13. MorelliMedia on August 3, 2010 at 11:16 pm

What’s that camera stabilizer you had? It went around your back, with a monopod. Can’t seem to find anything like it on Google, or ebay. Not sure how to clarify it. Thanks.

any way you could give me a detailed list of what your showing. That would be really fantastic. Looks wicked. I have a hv30 and am dying to have that rig. Thanks man. Going to subscribe right now.

You call this prosumer? This is beyond prosumer, this look’s like a 35mm camera.

  16. crash0veride on August 4, 2010 at 1:14 am

Not even close to the same camera because of the differenet encodings which dramaticly affects the quality and “style” of video that the HV20/30/40 are known for. The HV series use HDV encoding while the HF series use AVCHD which is getting closer to the quality of HDV but lacks the “style” that Pro film makers like so much. (this but has nothing to do with the rig, its just basic camera info) You can “rig” any camera but some like the HV40 are prone for this for film making.

@2009ka24det because that’s what it is – his rig has fuck loads of stuff added to it, the episode here is about building onto a very small camera such as the HV30

  18. binoyrakesh on August 4, 2010 at 2:24 am

dude you saw this video and thought the hv 30 is a huge cam like in this video?? thats a rig he made himself.. inside theres this tiny small camcorder and thats the hv30 !!!

  19. carolan76 on August 4, 2010 at 3:20 am

Because the Canon Vixia HV30 is a handy-cam.

  20. 2009ka24det on August 4, 2010 at 4:12 am

Why is it that when I type in “Canon HV30 camera ” in google it only gives me the small mini hand held cam corders??

  21. surfandsk8 on August 4, 2010 at 5:06 am

yeah i know ha, I have no thought why I wrote deep o.o

  22. teckcode1 on August 4, 2010 at 5:40 am

Deep depth of field you can get with most cameras without anything, its shallow depth of field you need a DOF for

  23. teckcode1 on August 4, 2010 at 6:19 am

no, i know of a DOF adaptor for 99$, its called the JAG35ST

  24. LowerTimes on August 4, 2010 at 6:46 am

you can attach a new objective

  25. Szathmo92 on August 4, 2010 at 7:24 am

i dont reckon so in person, because im sweet sure that you can’t attach a new objective.
