@fatzy9ttuts I have the same problem, I’ve read everyplace that it means that the pc is not able to decode the image accurately of the video. I had the same problem when I uploaded the video to youtube, but it looked horrible. I still have no thought how to fix that.

The HD videos are just an extra i agree but a video can last up to half an hour and depending on what reminiscence card you want the quality gets better and better the best one gets you phanominal footige video and picture.

AUDIO, don’t know if any, are noticing this but the Audio IS FANTASTIC
ON THE Cannon(s). No hiss, no struggling AVR, Fantastic Separation on Stereo
lower bass, I took 2 cameras back from poor sound, one the lens zoom chatter
was driving me nuts. This Camera looks better than fantastic to me.

I am about to buy this cam I had the S5 IS and had no troubles with it but now i want to shoot in HD thats why im getting it. the one feature that i like the best is the swivel screen. Because of the screen i was able to take footage in hard to reach areas i cam place the camera way over my head and still see what i am shooting or way down below on the floor and still get a excellent shot.

If a camera can’t do audio well, I won’t buy it. Panasonics can’t do audio well. I’m with Canon.

yea i reckon im leanin toward that one too, but its so hard to leave the sx20…i like the lcd swivel and the fact that it takes batteries…plus the +2 optical zoom helps out a bit…but i like the compact size of the fz and how it shoots in raw. is there anyone that has owned both of these and likes one over the other?

after extensive research i picked panasonic one, this camera is wicked, the pictures and videos are very sharp, very quick focus, very quick picture taking ability, the lamp is just awe-inspiring, you can take pics in dark room, and they still look as if you took them in daylight
oh and zoom works fantastic too
    battery holds sweet excellent

  13. jmanluthy on August 22, 2010 at 9:52 pm

yea man im in the same position…have you bought either one yet?

  14. Michkuty on August 22, 2010 at 9:53 pm

    fck
im soo confused, dunno whether to get this 1 or panasonic fz38 :S

Did you figure it out? To get the video off the reminiscence card you need to either use the included Canon software or plug your SD card into an SD card reader and manually browse to the videos. For some reason 3rd-party software apps like Picasa don’t see the video files when importing.

Do you have the digital zoom enabled? If so then disable this and dont use it at all even for pictures.

What light conditions are you trying to shoot in?
Or is it grainy/noisy in all conditions?
