I got a new camera, for mainly picture taking, but Charles Trippy uses the Canon camera to take video also for his daily vlogs. I’m doing this test to see the differences between the two cameras on my computer and YouTube. Let me know your thoughts and opinions about the two cameras. Pros and cons. Thanks! SUBSCRIBE!!!

@dailychris it popped up in the side bar on his trippy channel. Because his camera broke.
@modcaleb – Yes, for the win, indeed. Usually people place that on other people’s videos whenever they give a shoutout to them. Did they talk about my video or somethin’? lol
CTFxC FTW
@AF0093 – The last time I checked. The only editing you can do with the FlipShare software, that comes with the Flip camera, only lets you add titles and cut clips. :
Flip Ultra HD has a 2x digital zoom. Blehh..
Does the software on the flip let you edit videos with cool options? LIke speed up your videos ( i do tutorials for youtube) so i would like a quick playing selection for editing. And how much is Zoom on the flip?
I reckon I will get the sd 1400
@g00nerz4eva No, the guy you are discussion about is Dane Boe.
canon
I reckon Canon Powershot is best
Hey, are you the guy who plays “Annoying Orange”? Your eyes and mouth look just like him. Regarding comparison – Ultra HD sounds a lot better – nasty background noise on the Canon. Not sure about video quality, but the Canon obviously bests the Ultra HD by having a wider angle lens and proper zoom.
@zebracrunk – Not really. It’s about the same for either the Flip or the Canon. It really just depends on how you wanna hold the camera, and what is most comfortable for you. IMO, the Flip was simpler to hold mainly because it had more grip and could fit my hand, like an iPhone, for example. I hope this helps.
Is it hard to hold the Canon to your face for vlogging?
@RyansShowTV You kinda did, I was going to get it but then I chose this.
just returned the flip ultrahd for the canon sd780
things i do not miss from the ultra:
- farthest shakiness
- no wide angle lens
- no sdhc card support
- incapacity to take pictures
- bulkiness
things i do miss:
- incredible stereo sound
- .mp4 format
- low-light adjustment for video
ive been doing my research and mino hd 2nd gen = ultra hd, and canon 780 = 940 = 1400 for HD video recording. keep that in mind if you are shopping btwn models
point about tthe flip over the Canon… is that the audio is much better… even though the canon seems to be louder, the Flip seems to handle its compression better… from loud concerts to silent discussion… the canon beats the flip though… in options, i reckon. because the flip cam doesnt take hi quality photos… so i guess it all comes down to what you are looking for…
Canon = fantastic still camera with video selection.
flip HD = fantastic small portable video cam with brilliant audio capabilities
Fantastic Review…
i reckon the flip has better sound quality… i mean you have the best of both worlds if you have HD quality with a Camera..
When i upload with my Canon Powershot SD780 and i watch it on youtube, its kinda laggy, but when i watch this, it isnt.
Can someone clarify this?
Watch my profile, for the video maybe you guys got it to
if you place in canon more then 4gb or 8gb the camra might frezze
The battery doesn’t seem to work for a excellent long time (more than 2 hrs) while doing video, but with pictures, it works sweet well.
the battery life is incredible I charged mine twice and had it for over a month and a half, I use it very often
I believe you can lock the exposure setting so that it won’t make it dark when you go by a window or similar.
Yeah, there are many pros and cons for both cameras. The Flip HD records in Stereo sound while the Canon records in Mono sound, I believe. The Flip has better lighting, but the Canon seems a lot more crisper looking/sounding to me. I don’t know. I couldn’t tell anyone which one to buy over the other. They are both..about..the same price, but the Canon takes pictures.
So, if you want just a video recording camera, go with Flip. But if you want video and pictures, go with the Canon.
The largest reminiscence card you can stick in the camera is the largest SD card you can find. I have the 8GB card, but there might be larger ones out there. The 8GB card can do, I believe 2hrs of video with nothing else on it. I’m not sure about the battery life of the camera, because I haven’t let it drain all the way yet, bet I’m sure they have that everyplace online.
just wanted to say thanks for the comparison video. I’ve been watching the canon too and now feel i made the incorrect choice.
