After much searching, I chose this camera had everything that I wanted in it, especially the 14x optical zoom. It takes fantastic pictures and you can carry it around in your pocket. The 14 MP isn’t terrible either!

I learned AFTER persistent from vacation that it is best to take any videos in the LANDSCAPE mode as those taken in Portrait need a computer program to show accurately… unless you really like looking at videos sideways that is. Maybe there is something more I need to learn but I didn’t find this capability. The camera has a lot of fantastic features but my husband has a touch screen Sony that is probably more user friendly. I mostly used the “auto” setting which worked fine as long as I was able to give the camera several seconds to focus. On distance shots it focused on anything that was in the way so I missed some really fascinating shots. The pictures that were successful were clear and fantastic quality.

The camera is fantastic and takes brilliant pics. The only complaint I have is the placement of the sparkle which is at the top right and flips open when you turn on the camera. So if you have your fiddle with in that place, the sparkle will not open and you will have to manually pull it out. I found for myself doing this a lot as the camera is sleek and one tends to hold it on all four corners.
Regarding the accessories along with this, the camera case is horrible. Infact, the velcro is so rough that it tends to rip off the camera sling holder. I am sure it can make a scratch on the viewing section of the camera. Also, it is thick and bulky, and will fit nothing but the camera. I disposed it at once, the case seemed more destructive than protective.
The tripod lens is ok, it is teeny but what else can you expect.
The reminiscence card is ok for now but I haven’t tried another card with higher speed to compare it with.

I have no thought why Canon unrestricted this kind model. So hard to use. Sparkle on right top is annoying. I have used so many brand cameras all manufacturers made sure cameras physical design is ease to use whereas this one is not that user friendly. U cant hold camera properly due to sparkle popup other than that menu and operation is sweet.
